About Us

MIS Environmental Ltd was founded by three ex-steel works staff in a small premises on an industrial estate, two miles from where Consett Iron Company once stood. The company now employs over 100 staff and is committed to a long-term growth strategy. The company has been in operation since 1982 and now covers the United Kingdom and undergoes contracts in Saudi Arabia.

Our head office is based in Consett, County Durham and also houses the materials testing business, MIS Mechanical Ltd. MIS Environmental Ltd has satellite offices throughout the United Kingdom offering comprehensive services in Asbestos Identification, Occupational Hygiene and other Environmental services.

We hold UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) accreditation (equivalent to ISO 17025 & 17020) for Asbestos Testing services. Therefore, the customer is assured that we provide a top quality and consistent service. The UKAS scheme exceeds ISO 9000. We are also current members of both RICE and the HSE Quality control system AIMS.
