Asbestos Software
What can our asbestos software do?
As our asbestos software has been written in house by our
Systems Analyst, we have been in total control of the development
hence it is not an “off the shelf package”, it
has been written using Microsoft Access 2000 incorporating
Visual Basic, we have used our own knowledge and experience
of what clients require to design a “bespoke”
system to satisfy all clients requirements to ensure that
they meet the very latest legislation.
We have also partnered with one of our major clients to ensure
that we also look at the “end user” and that the
system is easy to use, and understand with minimal training.
The system is “tree based”, to allow the client
easy searching and navigation.

Data
Collection & Consistency
All
of our surveyors carry out data collection using Microsoft
Pocket PC handheld computers. This allows the surveyor
to work on site and email/transfer his data direct to
our servers which will process the data quickly and
effectively.
Sampling points have been standardised so that the client
can be assured of a consistent and accurate survey.
MIS Limited do not just record the asbestos items within
the room, but will record all negative items, we have
found that this is particularly useful e.g. an on site
contractor has a material query for a material resembling
asbestos which was in fact supalux, the room record
would show this to reassure the contractor.
Any suspicious samples being electronically transferred
to our “in house” bulk laboratory for confirmation
analysis.
Once bulk results have been verified and confirmed the
data is then updated into the live surveys automatically,
and if the client requires transferred into their own
Asbestos Register Database.
Future
Developments
MIS Limited are committed to seeking constant improvements
in their IT systems, future developments which we are
working on to introduce in the future are:
On Line Asbestos Management
User Definable reporting
Asset Management Integration
Fully manned helpdesk for advice and assistance withsoftware.
